Local names
Species known in Israel have a Hebrew name, and many also carry the names anglers actually use, such as lavrak for the European sea bass. A species without a Hebrew name is one that is not known here under one, on purpose.
A species not in the catalogue
A species an angler searches for and does not find gets a short description written by AI, and from then on it is there for everyone. You can also add species of your own.
The encyclopedia opens from My fishing and from the catch form.
Questions
- Are the Kinneret's fish in it?
- Yes. The catalogue includes freshwater species, the Galilee tilapia among them.
- Why does a species have no Hebrew name?
- Because it is not known in Israel under one. That is deliberate.
