White: the line to your reel. Orange: the tag end, the part you move. Mirror flips the drawing for tying left-handed.
Steps
Pass 15 to 25 cm of line through the eye and lay the tag end back alongside the standing line, leaving a loop where it doubles back.
Wrap the tag end round both lines 5 to 8 times, working back toward the eye: fewer turns in thicker line.
Pass the tag end through the gap between the two lines just above the eye.
Bring it up and pass it through the loop at the top, the one left in the first step.
Wet the knot, close the turns evenly, then hold the lure and pull the standing line to seat it. Trim the tag end.
Tips
- Use fewer turns in thicker line.
- Keep the turns side by side; turns that cross weaken it.
- Wet the knot before you pull it tight.
